The real world is beyond our thoughts and ideas;
we see it through the net of our desires,
divided into pleasure and pain,
right and wrong, inner and outer.
To see the universe as it is, you must step beyond the net.
It is not hard to do so, for the net is full of holes.
Sri Nisardagatta
For more than a decade, I have been dividing my time between Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a location close to the Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. The surrounding day and night scape, with their particular light depending on the season, so characteristic for the Southwest of the United States have continued to inspire me in many ways. I might choose a subject matter unrelated to my physical location and am still very influenced by what I see around me. My multi-layered paintings attempt to capture the play of color with light as I experience it. Two-dimensional photographs are limited as far as showing the depth and texture of my paintings accurately. Thank you for filling in the gap with your imagination.
